Upcoming Feature: Social Media and Photography

Socialmedia photography

We would like to announce that the next topic we are going to be looking into for our blog feature is photography and social media.  We are going to be looking at issues, pros and cons,  various platforms, gathering tips and advice, and conducting interviews.  Why?

  • Photography has undergone a radical transformation in the last ten years, and it isn’t over.
  • Photography has some very unique issues with respect to intellectual property and social media.
  • There are many ways to use social media for photography.
  • Social media is very visual and image sharing based.

And last but not least we want to know how photographers feel about what is currently out there and what directions they would like to see things go.  We are building a platform (Cahoots.com) that photographers will find useful for self-promotion.  Cahoots is not a social business network solely for photographers, but they are one of the best groups to ask about certain issues.  As clever as we might be, we’re no match for collaborative intelligence.  Even if we do not find that all of the answers we receive are relevant to Cahoots, perhaps some savvy individual will stumble across this blog and see an opportunity.

Stay tuned for the next round of feature posts and check out the testing grounds/polls to see what we’re asking.  A picture says a thousand words, we’ll likely end up typing ten thousand, and hopefully people will speak up and give us a million more.
