The Nerd Handbook (oldie but goodie)

I really love this article. I was going through my unfiled info today (got bored of today’s internet content) and I came across this gem. It’s a great description of nerds written for the girlfriend of a nerd. I would suggest to sabrebutt to print out a copy. I can’t even believe how close I am to the article’s description of a nerd but seriously, sabrebutt is so spot on it’s scary. He even uses the same signal word for being uninterested in what you’re talking about, cool.

p.s. @sabrebutt the fullscreen edit function is fucked up. I lost my work when I tried to use it. Probably because I’m using safari (pause for groan) but maybe not.

p.s.s. it should be noted that while I’m at home on the internet, sabrebutt is out having a good time somewhere.

The Nerd Handbook

A nerd needs a project because a nerd builds stuff. All the time. Those lulls in the conversation over dinner? That’s the nerd working on his project in his head.

A Donkey in jail????? Yeah… for being a jackass!!

"TUXTLA GUTIERREZ, Mexico - A Mexican donkey has been freed from jail after doing time for acting like a jackass.

The
Televisa network on Wednesday showed Blacky gobbling food from a bucket
after spending three days in a jail that normally holds people for
public drunkenness and other disturbances.

Blacky
was jailed for biting and kicking two men near a ranch outside Tuxtla
Gutierrez, the capital of the southern state of Chiapas."

US Soldiers Tortured Chinese Citizens on Behalf of the Communist Government

Well, I’m officially enraged. The US is now a known torturer of Chinese citizens. China, you need to do your own damned dirty work.

ABC NEWS Reports:

Buried in a Department of Justice report released Tuesday are new
allegations about a 2002 arrangement between the United States and
China, which allowed Chinese intelligence to visit Guantanamo and
interrogate Chinese Uighurs held there.

According to the report by Justice Department Inspector General
Glenn Fine, an FBI agent reported a detainee belonging to China’s
ethnic Uighur minority and a Uighur translator told him Uighur
detainees were kept awake for long periods, deprived of food and forced
to endure cold for hours on end, just prior to questioning by Chinese
interrogators.

Susan Manning, a lawyer who represents several Uighurs still
held at Guantanamo, said Tuesday the allegations are all too familiar.

U.S. personnel "are engaging in abusive tactics on behalf of
the Chinese," she said Tuesday. When Uighur detainees refused to talk
to Chinese interrogators in 2002, U.S. military personnel put them in
solitary confinement as punishment, she said.

We need to close Guantamino Bay as soon as possible and hold our elected officials responsible for theses acts of terrorism and gross violations of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
