The 2008 elections have already been stolen.

Pack your bags…

REPOST:

Greg Palast, Author of Armed Madhouse, on How Rove May Have Already Stolen the 2008 Election

A BUZZFLASH INTERVIEW
People ask me: Are they going to steal the 2008 election? No, they’ve already stolen the 2008 election. We still have a chance of swiping it back, but the reason I’ve expanded and put out the new edition of Armed Madhouse is to tell you how they will steal in 2008, and what to do about it. That’s one of the main new things. Plus a special chapter on New Orleans and my bust down there.
– Greg Palast
* * *
You might say, since the 2000 election, BuzzFlash and Greg Palast have shared many a foxhole in the fight for democracy. He’s a workaholic, like we are — and he doesn’t flinch one iota in investigating the powers that be.
One of the things that makes Palast such an incredible asset is that he is in the I.F. Stone tradition of his doing thorough research. As much as he’s built up a Sam Spade sleuthing persona, it is grounded in his ability to shift through large piles of documents and data that most modern reporters would just look at and cry, "No way, I’ve got to meet someone for a daquiri."
Mainstream jounalism in D.C. is built on the "easy story," as in the one that is handed to you by the Executive Branch. Actually, Palast doesn’t work in D.C. much at all. He is out traveling around the country — and world — doing actual investigations into what is really going on.

Associated Press Sues Blogger For Linking to Articles

Until further notice AP articles are banned from Cahoots.

Some people just have no idea how the Internet works. I suspect it may be because they’ve never used it correctly or at length. The Associated Press has sent seven DMCA takedown notices to a blog called "The Drudge Retort" after small snippets of text and quotes were used under fair use. Remember, these weren’t entire articles, and the authors linked directly to the AP. From Cadenhead:

The Retort is a community site comparable in function to Digg, Reddit and Mixx. The 8,500 users of the site contribute blog entries of their own authorship and links to interesting news articles on the web, which appear immediately on the site. None of the six entries challenged by AP, which include two that I posted myself, contains the full text of an AP story or anything close to it. They reproduce short excerpts of the articles — ranging in length from 33 to 79 words — and five of the six have a user-created headline.

Here’s one of the six disputed blog entries:

Clinton Expects Race to End Next Week

Hillary Rodham Clinton says she expects her marathon Democratic race against Barack Obama to be resolved next week, as superdelegates decide who is the stronger candidate in the fall. "I think that after the final primaries, people are going to start making up their minds," she said. "I think that is the natural progression that one would expect."

If you follow the link, you’ll see that the blog entry reproduces 18 words from the story and a 32-word quote by Hillary Clinton under a user-written headline. The blog entry drew 108 comments in the ensuing discussion.

Do you see what I did there? I just quoted another article from THE INTERNET. I didn’t quote the entire article, just an interesting snippet. You can choose to follow the link to their article to read the whole thing, click some ads, and make them some good money for their content. On the Internet, anything that matters gets linked to.

And now, AP, you will pay dearly. You will not get any more links or clickthroughs from this site or many others, because you’ve really pissed us off. We happen to like free speech, and we happen to enjoy using copyright law to our advantage. I’d like to remind you that filing false or malicious DMCA takedown requests is illegal under Title 17 of the US Code.

And Now is Our Time

If you hadn’t heard, Obama has secured the nomination. After 5 long months, he has finally reached the magic number and he can now begin his hard fight against McSame.

Hillary, however, didn’t get the voicemail. She refuses to give up. Her supporters, frothing at the mouth, are begging her to run as an independent, to ultimately destroy the Democratic Party. A comment from her blog reads:

IF HILLARY DOESN’T CONTINUE I WILL TO VOTE FOR MCAIN. I WILL ALWAYS BE A HILLARY CLINTON SUPPORTER AND WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER HER GREAT CAMPAIGN AND WHAT SHE HAS DONE FOR WOMEN ACROSS THIS COUNTRY. GOD BLESS.

CHRIS,
 N.Y.

So basically, almost all of her supporters want her to continue, even though she is not going to be the nominee. They refuse the idea of her taking the Vice Presidential slot, despite this meme having come from the Clinton camp. Many are saying they will vote for McCain instead in November which tells you just what kind of irrational thinkers these people are. They are not voting to end the war. They are not voting to stop the corruption in D.C. They are not voting because a new hope exists, a better choice for America has been presented, or because the rights of women and minorities are important to them. They are voting for Hillary for superficial and ignorant reasons, and they are willing to leave the DNC behind and side with the enemy if their candidate doesn’t get the nomination.

All the while, Clinton plays coy, as if she could still win the election. She refused to concede last night and instead gave a victory speech that was so appalling and ungracious, while her supporters cheered "Denver, Denver!"

Young Hillary Clinton

She’ll never get tired of it. Yes, that is the guy from Sliders.

UPDATE: Looks like the owner took it down. Too bad.

DOUBLE UPDATE: It’s back.

Hillary Clinton Tattoo

The owner of Ill Skillz Tattoo now has a tattoo of Hillary Clinton:

Artist Buffalo Bill, of Sunbury, offered a free Hillary tattoo to any takers because his daughter Sarah Taby is a big Clinton supporter and thought the tattoo would give Clinton good exposure.

Salgago, 28, who is also a Clinton fan, jumped at the chance. Salgado’s new ink is featured in Tattoo Review. The mag’s publisher Carey Exton says he thinks many tattooed people are for Clinton because she "tells it like it is."

"Hell, yeah," Salgado says, when we asked if he voted for Clinton recently.

He likes "her experience, her motivation and the fact that she doesn’t
bite her tongue." We asked a Clinton spokesman for comment on whether
the New York senator would respond in kind and get a tattoo of Salgado,
but there has not yet been a reply.

Will Obama attend this year’s Bilderberg Group meeting?

Ok, so Obama isn’t a freemason, not in skull ‘n bones, no Council on Foreign
Relations attendance… and he beat the other democratic candidates who have
gone to these meetings (Hillary Clinton, Chris Dodd, John Edwards, Bill
Richarson). Woah. Well that means only one thing for our gracious overlord rule
to continue. Barack Obama must attend the Builderberg meeting that is rumored
to be taking place in Greece
this year. Taking a look at when the past meetings occur it’s usually between
the end of May and early June. Apparently, the Builderberg Group has been good
about keeping it’s location and other details more secretive that past years.
It’s 3:20 and my conspiracy senses are tingling. Probably just need to go to
sleep so that our overlords can reprogram me in my dreams with their dream-mind
controlling technologies.

too lazy to give you links to this stuff right now. you have a computer.
google/wikipedia this stuff…. ok, I’ll give you a "documentary"

Rich People

Hillary Clinton on Bill O’Reilly:

"Rich people. God bless us. We deserve all the opportunities, to make sure our country and our blessings continue for the next generation."

I dunno, Hillary, some could consider that a little ‘elitist,’ no?

Oh, and go to hell, Bill O’Reilly.

Hillary VS. the Coffee Maker

I don’t even have to say anything. Really. When do you think the last time Hillary Clinton walked into a gas station was? When do you think the last time she tried to make coffee? I’ll bet it was before she lived in the Whitehouse, that’s for sure.
